Arunai Charitable Trust (A C T) was formed with the primary objective of facilitating good education particularly to students by providing financial help on merit cum means basis. The "A C T" was established during the Silver Jubilee Celebrations of "Tiruvannamalai Panta Reddiar Association (TPRA)" - (the name is maintained as "TPR Chanthira Nirvagha Sangam") at Tiruvannamalai, Tamilnadu, India. "A C T" was constituted with having 15 Founder Trustees and TPRA  President, Secretary and Treasurer as Ex-Officio Trustees in thier term and the Trust Deed was registered. The "A C T" was envisaged as the forum through which our community members, their very close friends, well-wishers and philanthropists especially in services and business could contribute annually to promote higher education of students through giving scholarships.

During the initial years the "A C T" has given Prizes to students who obtained Highest marks in +2 Examination and Scholarships to five students who continued studies after +2 every year. With cooperation and contributions from members and friends, apart from continuing prizes to students, in the 10th Anniversary year 2004-05, increased assistance was given to more students pursuing Diploma & Professional Degree cources totalled to Rs.63,000. In 2005-06 it was Rs.84,000; in 2006-07 - Rs.91,000; in 2007-08 - Rs.1.73 lakhs; in 2008-09 - Rs.1.90 lakhs and in current year 2009-10 - Rs.2.12 lakhs. Until Jan 2010, "A C T" received and created TEN (10) ENDOWMENT FUNDs includes yearly committed endowments one of which is from Arunai Friends Association at Chennai (AFA-Chennai)

The "A C T" provides opportunity to every member of our community and also their closely known friends to help our deserving and needy students. The following are some ways in which you can help

  1. Become a member of the "A C T"- Pay Rs. 2000/- (US Dollars.500) as membership fee and contribute not less than Rs. 500/- (US Dollars100) every year to the "A C T"

  2. Contribute annually any amount of your choice (Suggestion is 0.25 to 0.50 percent of your annual income. eg. A person drawing Rs. 6,000 / US DOllars.6000 per month may contribute amount from Rs.150 to 300 / US Dollars.150 to 300 per year)

  3. Contribute a minimum of Rs.5000/ (US Dollars.1000) towards Scholarship Fund any time, which shall be useful to increase the quantum of Scholarships to students

  4. Contribute and create Endowment Fund not less than Rs.1,00,000 (US Dollars.5000) in the name of benefactor of your choice. You can specify your choice of the recipient and purpose

  5. Contribute towards Relief & Rehabilitation Fund to help persons and families suffering from any natural disasters like 26th Dec 2004 Tsunami

All our Members and their Friends, Philanthropists, Organisations and Societies located outside India can contribute towards Options 1 to 5 above, in Indian Rupees (INR), equivalent to US Dollars indicated, by Bank Draft favouring "ARUNAI CHARITABLE TRUST" Payable at Chennai indicating your Name, Address and the Option/s from the list above to reach
